Nimmerdor
1.68m, 1972 Dutch Warmblood

Nimmerdor was foaled in 1972 and was bought at a stallion show by a Mr. Wiepke van de Lagewag.  The new owner had originally only started breeding horses in 1972 as a hobby and may possibly have seen Nimmerdor as a stallion which could take his venture to a higher level. Whether that was the intention or not , it certainly proved to be the case as the VDL stud was only really born after the purchase of Nimmerdor.  The jumping abilities of Nimmerdor became very apparent during his performance testing and so over a number of years he progressed onto the International stage. He successfully competed in many World Cups and other such International competitions. He was invited to compete at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics but the invitation was declined in favor of concentration upon his breeding duties.

Nimmerdor has over 50 approved sons of which one,   He also produced over sixty international show jumpers including well known horses such as VDL  Everest and  Canadian Colours. Nimmerdor also produced a number of successful dressage horses including the international Zapata as well as other versatile offspring including Wellington which competed at advanced level dressage as well as International Show Jumping. He was therefore a very attractive proposition for breeders who were aiming for an all - round sport horse. He also sired many exceptional broodmares and his daughters regularly finished above all other mares in the conformation category. His progeny also have excellent breeding results and he had a high degree of heredity reliability, standing at 95% .
